My Toddler the Photographer

My daughter loves taking photos with my iPhone. She’s figured out how to take photos without unlocking the iPhone, which I didn’t even know how to do until she showed me.

If your iPhone resembles mine, you have about 989 photos on your phone. But there is something even more disturbing. The photos she takes of me. See while she is taking photos with the iPhone, I’m doing stuff and, admittedly, am not “camera aware” or “camera ready.” This leads to about 979 of those 989 photos being very, very unflattering photos of me.
Really, I know I am not the only person that does this to check a diaper, but do I need documented proof that I checked out my son’s {presumably} crappy diaper? Also, what is going on with that hat?

2013-FleeceI know exactly where this was taken. We were in a doctor’s office after my daughter had a very scary reaction to something she ate. I was obviously listening very carefully to the doctor explaining to me what happened with my daughter. It’s really too bad I wasn’t listening to someone giving me some solid fashion advice to never wear that fleece pullover again.

Why would someone take this photo??? My toddler always tells me she is my “best friend.” Well, dear, best friends do not take photos like this without immediately deleting them. I’m really sorry you had to see this one.

All of them really.

If your child has filled your iPhone and is always taking photos with the iPhone that make you cringe, do me a favor and Pin, Share, Like or Tweet this post.

I need to know I am not alone.

AHAHAHAHH!!! Dude what you have to remember is no matter how unflattering YOU think you look, she thinks you’re 100% the bees knees.

Also, you totally blew my whole world apart mentioning using the camera without unlocking the phone. IT’S MAGIC.

Wait, you can take photos without unlocking your iPhone? Can she guest post/vlog with a tutorial for the rest of us who were clueless? (also, how freakin’ cute would that be? lol)

I think you look super cute in the pink hat!! :)

When you are on the lock screen, there is a camera icon in the lower right corner. Swipe up, and the camera app will run. My camera has a passcode, and it still works but won’t crop the pics into my photos until I enter the code.

One of the best and worst things we ever did was get my oldest his own digital camera. He loves it, but I regularly have to go through and do damage control on the photos he’s taken.

Thanks for stopping by, Brooke! And I totally get what you are saying. My daughter has a little Fisher Price Camera and does the same thing!

LOL, Love your post and photos. If your daughter didn’t love you and wasn’t your best friend she wouldn’t always want to take pictures of you, right? My 5 yr old daughter doesn’t use my phone but takes photos and videos all of the time with her Leapad which always aren’t the most flattering so I know how you feel but I am a dad so I kind of don’t care. HAHA

Glad to hear I’m not alone. I can’t tell you how many pictures I have deleted over the past 3 years since my daughter started using both the camera and my phone to snap candid photos!!!

Awesome! It’s good to know that I’m not alone in the crappy iPhone picture category. Oh…. and to one up you on this one my 13yr old takes crappy pics of me on purpose and knows it… jerk.
